Feeding the Soul! Tools You Can Use!

Good morning daughters of grace!

So much is on my heart and mind.  Sometimes it's hard to know what to write.  As the Mom Squad we want to write blogs that bless your heart, encourage you in your everyday life and build you up in the Word of God.  Our foundation Bible verse is Colossians 2:2 "I want them to be encouraged and knit together by strong ties of love. I want them to have complete confidence that they understand God's mysterious plan, which is Christ himself."

Every time one of us sits down to write a blog this scripture resonates in our spirit.  We want you to know that we love you but most importantly the Lord loves you!  If we aren't lifting up the name of Jesus and pointing you to Him there is no point of us writing.  It's God, and not us, who builds us up.  It's God who encourages us when the money isn't right.  It's God who loves us unconditionally when we feel or act unlovable!  It's God who is our strength when all else fails.  It's God!  Our blog posts are nice but they are nothing if they don't point you to Jesus.

Normally I'd share a recipe or two with you but today I'd like to share some spiritual food with you.  Food that will feed not your physical body but your spiritual body.  Remember ladies, we are running a marathon and we need fuel everyday!  Here are some free tools that I use to grow in my walk with the Lord and I pray they will help to "Feed" your soul as well.

Smart Phone or Tablet Apps:

  • YouVersion - Amazing Bible app available for all smartphones.  It has every translation available and daily devotionals.  Right now I'm working through one called "Thrive Moms: Warrior Study".  It's about teaching moms how to be warrior women for Christ.  My favorite so far focused on the wise woman in 2 Samuel 20:15-26.  READ IT!!
  • Crosswalk - I use this on my laptop and iphone.  The app versions has tons of relevant articles and blogs on topics from daily Christian living to movie reviews to Old Testament Laws and married and singles articles.  So much to choose from there.
  • OnePlace - Missed your favorite Christian speaker on the radio?  You are sure to find their latest messages on One Place.
  • The Fish - Having recently moved I MISS the Fish.  But wait, I never have to miss the Fish because I can listen to them on their app!  How cool is that?
  • I also have Moody Radio and Focus on the Family's apps in regular rotation on my phone!

Home Computer:

  • BibleGateway.com - My go to place to look up scriptures.  With dictionaries and parallel Bible options this website is the spot!
  • Crosswalk.com - Just like the smartphone app, only better!  It includes articles, blogs, Bible study tools and even includes Strong's Concordance in their tools!  Love it!
  • Proverbs 31 Ministries - One of my favorite resources for women!  I love their free Online Bible studies as well!

These are just a few of my favorites!  Where do you go for additional encouragement in your walk with the Lord?  Love you ladies!  God bless you!
