Let It Go
Hello beautiful ladies! Happy April!! Thank God for the warmer weather and that Spring has finally arrived!
Well, if you read the title of the blog, you may think that this blog is going to be about the infamous song Let It Go that everyone has heard over and over and over and over and over and…
Thankfully, this blog has nothing to do with that song or the movie Frozen. :)
I was watching my toddler go up and down the stairs the other day and something that he did clicked for me. He had his hands full with a ball and a car and he wanted to go downstairs but couldn’t figure out how to go down the stairs with his hands full. In that moment, he had to make a choice. Do I go down the stairs to get to my destination (the next level)? Or do I stay where I’m at, continuing to hold on to the things that I’ve been holding? It was dilemma that I have found myself in a time or two.
I love to encourage women through my writing. I've been challenging women to be bold in the name of Jesus this past month. What I’ve come to realize, however, is that many of us are holding on to things in our past that are preventing us from going to the next level. We know that it’s time to move on yet we don’t want to let go of that stuff that we have gotten accustomed to holding onto. Some of that “stuff” includes things like unforgiveness, regret, shame, relationships and friendships that you know are unhealthy, hurt, sadness, bitterness, etc.
Spend some time examining your life. Examine what some of those things are that have become really comfortable, perhaps a crutch, that you lean on anytime God asks you to move. I encourage you to release those things once and for all. Ask God to take those things from you so that you no longer have to carry those into your next level.
Is it scary? Yes. It's scary to let go of some of those things or people that are preventing us from getting what God has in store for us but be encouraged. The Bible says in Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Whatever you may be going through or carrying around with you, give it over to God. Let Him take it on and find rest in Him.
It’s time for next level living! Are you ready?

I am all too familiar with this as well. But boy what an amazing feeling it is to be where God is calling you to be with no burdens or extra luggage! I love the feeling of just being free!
