I hope you had a wonderful mother's day weekend. I feel very blessed to have a girl and a boy. They are seven years apart, so for me everything is like new where I fall for the same thing twice. LOL! We went camping this weekend and were able to get some fishing in. I had been wanting to go fishing for what seemed like forever with the winter we had, so it was nice to be able to go. I caught FOUR fish!!! I even have the pictures to prove it! I will post them later. When I say I fall for the same things, here is a perfect example. We are getting ready to go near the river to fish and I say, "hey Jason, roll up your jeans so they don't get wet." He decides he will just change into shorts and so we start on the trail. I hear, "mama help me I lost one of daddy's flip flops in this mud pool." So here we are "trying" to fish and my kid looks like he is kin to a piglet with mud all up his feet and up his shins like he had on black socks. "Lovely" LOL So we continue once the flip flop is found and "try" to fish. I caught one! Jason took the pictures and Johnny helped me take the fish off the hook. It is not that I am grossed out or anything, I am more afraid of hurting the fish's lip, because my intentions are to usually put them back. We just like to fish for fun, mostly. Johnny was telling me his secret tricks on how to go about catching the fish and what bait I should use and why, and all of a sudden, I kept getting some strikes to my line. It was so cool and fun! Jason wasn't so much relishing in my marvelous fishing skills, so I had a cranky eleven year old to deal with, but I am always glad God sent me two children and the privilege of being a mother.
Sarah called to wish me a Happy Mother's Day and said, when we got back she would take me to get "Panchos." It is a restaurant in Green. I thought that was thoughtful. She also got me a bracelet that has mother and a matching one that says daughter. That really touched my heart. For me, it is the little things that my kids do to show me they love me and makes me happy that I am a mom. I will post some pictures later. God bless all of you! I hope you have a great week!
