It's hard sometimes, this walk we call faith. We go to church and leave feeling empowered and uplifted and then on Monday all heck breaks loose! We feel defeated, powerless and weak. We love the first part of that scripture - All things work together for good! Oh yeah! It's all going to work together! But, we forget the last part, "are called according to His purpose". What if is purpose is for us to go through whatever trial it may be. His purpose, not ours. We are reminded in Isaiah 55:8-9 that His thoughts are not our thoughts and His ways are not our ways. When we are in a situation that we don't like or in my case don't understand we must remember that it's His purpose and His plan, not ours. Easier said than done huh?
Daughter of grace, sometimes you may not feel on it but you have to stand on it. Years ago our pastor's wife had us write down scripture and literally stand on that piece of paper. She told us that there will be many times when we don't see it or feel, or even want to feel it! We just want our situation to be fixed! We want our spouses to be right, our children to stop acting out, we want out job back or our money situation made right. That's when we have to stand on the Word. We must stand on His Word because it is true and it's the ONLY THING that will get you through. The enemy will try to tell you that the situation and even you are hopeless. He'll try to tell you to just give up. He'll tell you that you can't make it through this. But God! The God of wonders, beyond our galaxy, has bigger plans for us! He knows that as we go through this situation we will, eventually, :-) look to Him. We will grow closer to Him and that's always His plan, relationship with us. He loves us! He loves you! He loves me! Be encouraged today. If you are angry and have turned away from Him, turn back to Him right now. He's waiting for you. He wants to comfort you and love on you like none other. His purpose, remember?
Daughter of grace, as I write this to you I write it to myself. Remember that James 1:1-2 tells us to count it all joy when we fall into trials! Romans 12:12 reminds us to rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation and constant in prayer. 1 Cor 10:13 reminds us that God is faithful! Prov 3:5-6 reminds us to trust Him and don't lean on our understanding and He will make our paths straight. James 1:12 tells us that blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.
My last scripture is so precious to my heart - "Weeping may endure for a night but JOY comes in the morning." Psalm 30:5
I leave you with the wise words of my grandmother . . . "And this too shall pass."
