Saying Goodbye

Hi friends,
I write today with a heavy heart. In the midst of a fun holiday weekend, we were simultaneously trying to get our almost ten year old boxer better. He hasn't eaten in almost a week now. We took him to a vet other than our normal one because he was out of town. Then after bringing him home for two days and him not getting any better, I took him up to the doggie ER. $1200 later, we still have a sick dog that is feeling worse by the minute.  I called our normal vet and explained I did not have money to keep paying the ER doctor and for somebody just to be honest with me.  His technician said that he believed by looking at his chart that was sent over that it was most likely bone cancer or a tumor on his spleen, neither of which was a good prognosis.  He is so pitiful, he looks like a little bag of bones with his loose skin from not eating in a week.  We are all so sad, it is hard to say good bye.  We got him when he was a puppy and my two year old son named him money. "Money Burns."  He is so laid back and sweet, in September he will be ten.  In life we learn it is about faith, hope, love, perseverance, pain, agony and death. With all of these things life can seem like  an emotional roller coaster.  I know God sends animals to us to take care of love and I am so thankful that I  have been so lucky to have such an awesome pet, but he is more than a pet he is family. I found a poem below that I literally just found right away, it was the first one I read, yet it says it all of how I feel about my dog. This picture if of a boxer is similar to Money. Please keep my family in your prayers and pray that money either makes a turn for the better or that God will take him to heaven where he will have no more pain.

God Bless!

Hey Lisa,

Saying prayers for you, your family, and Money. It is so difficult to lose a loved, family pet. May God give you peace. If you need to talk, please don't hesitate to call.

Lisa, I'm so sorry Money is not doing well. My heart breaks for you- I know how hard it is to lose a pet you've loved for so long. They ask so little from us but they give us so much. I'll pray for the best for Money, and for you & your family to have peace about whatever happens. Money, you are loved! God bless you!
