For the month of August, The Mom Squad and I would like to help you and your family get prepared for this coming up school year. Many of us are in completely different phases of sending of children off to school. Some of us are preparing to send our first born off to Kindergarten while others of us are sending our grown baby off to college. Regardless of what season you are in, there is a mom here to help you through, so be encouraged.

I fall into a slightly different category where my children are both still in daycare. My oldest just turned four, two weeks ago and my baby is two, so we haven't yet made our way to grade school. I feel like it is around the corner so I have already began searching for good schools and a nice community to raise my children in.

 

Before beginning my search I asked The Lord to make it clear to me where He would like for us to live and which school system my children should attend. I requested that He grant me wisdom in all my decision making and that He would make it impossible for me to move to the wrong area.

 

After prayer, I hopped on my laptop and began looking for schools and communities with a 7 or higher on a 1 to 10 grading scale. I also searched sites with star ratings, only looking at those receiving 4 or greater. I'm not picky but I do desire for my children to receive the best education and for them to be raised in a safe neighborhood. As a single mother safety is essential.

 

Lastly, I spoke with local mothers, teachers, ministers, and even a School Psychologist to get their opinions of different school districts in our area. I actually felt a bit overwhelmed after doing my own research and factoring in the opinions of others. There is just so much to consider! I thought this would be something that would take no longer than a month to figure out but I'm seeing that I need to seek God's face during this time and wait on Him to make things clear. I am fully trusting in and relying on the Lord to guide me because His choice is always the best choice!                                                                  

 

So for all of you moms who are still in the searching phase, know that you are not alone. The greatest part of your search is that you have a awesome Father in Heaven who is right there with you guiding you through the entire process. Wait on the Lord and He will direct your path. Happy Searching!
